Mold
For some people, a small amount of mold spores can create health problems, while others can tolerate an extremely high amount of spores prior to ill effects. Those most susceptible to mold health problems are individuals with existing respiratory conditions and asthma.
Farmer Environmental Services is a leader in mold consulting and testing. Our certified mold inspectors have performed inspections and/or project management services on more than 1000 buildings for school districts, universities/colleges, corporations, healthcare organizations, and residential clients.
Mold needs two things to survive, a food source (i.e. dirt, building materials) and moisture. As a result, the key to controlling mold is to prevent building materials from moisture. During our mold inspection, ACC personnel (Mold Inspectors) use moisture probes to identify the moisture content of building materials and determine the sources of leaks and water intrusion.
Mold Inspections
We offer a wide range of mold inspection services. Our mold sampling, consulting, and reporting provides our clients with the information needed to determine the best solution to issues caused by mold. Our qualified mold professionals are licensed in both Illinois and Missouri.
A typical mold inspection performed by our staff will:
- Analyze the problem and determine the source
- Conduct indoor air quality test to determine spore counts
- Analyze laboratory results data
- Provide a report detailing the test results and observations
- Consult on steps to remove mold correctly and safely
By identifying the source and scope of a mold problem, we can help a client understand what a mold problem is and the steps needed to remediate.
Mold Work Plans
FES provides complete project design services to ensure mitigation of any mold related situation. Project specifications and recommendations are provided and detailed on drawings, and cost estimates can be provided. As a consultant, we can provide insight on abatement contractors, develop bid documents, and assist when selecting a contractor.
Project Management
Project management services provide the critical guidance required to ensure a building is restored to its original condition. FES will monitor exposure levels and contractor performance onsite while providing ongoing and closing documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
